The Mariposa area California Highway Patrol (CHP) office reports that Chris Michael has made the department’s promotion list for the rank of sergeant. The promotional process for sergeant is highly competitive and consists of written testing and a quality appraisal panel interview.

Officer Michael is a Mariposa County High School graduate and has worked in the Ventura, San Jose, Los Banos, Merced and Mariposa CHP offices. Officer Michael will take on the duties of an acting sergeant until he selects a full-time position.
