Winter weather returns this week

After a sunny Monday, winter weather is set to return to Mariposa County this week. The National Weather Service is predicting rain and snow to move into California tomorrow and Wednesday.

The first of the storms will move in on Tuesday. Snow levels are expected to be around 5,000 feet with the first system. Another much colder storm is expected on Wednesday. Snow levels with this storm will likely lower into the upper foothill elevations.

Total snow accumulations are anticipated at eight to 18 inches, with several inches possible above the 2,000 to 2,500 foot level. A third storm is expected for the weekend.
