Thomas R. Hull of Mariposa died Feb. 8. He was 36.

Mr. Hull was born March 29, 1963, in Yosemite. He lived in Mariposa from 1974 to 2010. He was a young man whoser life was tragically cut short. He will always be remembered for his affinity for animals. In his younger years, he was always trying to bring home another dog.

Tommy had two other passions before he lost his sight: training his dog, Sarah, to be a search and rescue dog, and photography for which he had a natural talent. In the last month of his life, Tommy was working at regaining his strength at a skilled nursing facility to return home. During this time, Tommy became a part of a larger family and touched many lives.

He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Hull.

Tommy is survived by his mother, Connie A. Hull; sisters, Janice Forester and Sandy Barber; brothers, Richard Hull, Kenneth Hull and Donald Hull; and grandparents, Carl Ruben Phillips and Aileen Phillips and Nellie and Chauncey Hull.

A graveside service will be held in Mariposa at 2 p.m. on Feb. 19.
