Positively spun disasters

The Charge of the Light Brigade: Hundreds died on that fateful day, but we got a fantastic poem from it.

Titanic: Many people drowned in the icy Atlantic, but it made a blockbuster movie.

The Third Punic War: Most of the Carthaginian men were slaughtered, the women and children were taken into slavery, Carthage was burned to the ground and the soil was salted rendering it useless, but the Punic Wars ended.

Pizarro and the Incas: Pizarro and the Spanish Conquistadors through war and disease almost totally destroyed the Incan society, but Spain got rich.

Lots wife: She was turned into pillar of salt, but there was plenty of salt for the rest of the trip.

Sandrini Report: the Sandrini report was a cornucopia of mistakes and blunders that adversely affected the school district staff, finances, morale and we are still paying for it today. We would say it was a comedy of errors, but no one is laughing. However, at least Sandrini got paid $6,000 dollars for his tragic and unrealistic recommendations.
