Sheriff’s Dispatch Log

Feb. 1: •A cell phone was stolen and used on Buckingham Mountain Road. •Dispatch took a missing person’s report. •Check fraud was reported in Cathey’s Valley. •There was a chimney fire on Harris Cutoff Road.

Feb. 2: •Two horses were lost on Telegraph Ridge. •A child pulled a fire alarm in Greeley Hill. •A gun was stolen on Jalapa Way. •A possible drunk driver was traveling west bound on Old Highway.

Feb. 3: •There was a stray, white donkey on Gann’s Corral Road. •Two separate callers reported mistreated and skinny dogs on Woodview Lane. •An assault call on Salamander Drive resulted in one arrest. •Three vicious dogs were loose on Triangle Road.

Feb. 4: •There was a dog fight on Meadow Lane. •A very skinny horse was reported on Greeley Hill Road. •Deputies responded to a domestic violence incident on Kemble Road. •A dirt bike was traveling without lights on Dogtown Road.

Feb. 5: •A possibly rabid dog was impounded on Guadalupe Creek Road. •Death threats were reported at the rest area. •A suspicious person was on East Whitlock Road. •A burglary in progress was reported on Hite’s Cove Road.

Feb. 6: •Vandalism was reported on Gann’s Corral Road. •A gray heifer was missing on Ben Hur Road. •A possibly suicidal person was reported on Tip Top Road. •Deputies reponded to a threats call on St. Andrew’s Road.

Feb. 7: There was a physical altercation between eight people on St. Andrew’s Road. •A prowler was reported on Creel Road. •There was a motorcycle down on Highway 49 North. •Deputies responded to a domestic dispute on Triangle Road.

The above listed calls are actual reports to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Dispatch. These are just a sampling of yesterday's calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
