Third annual career fair takes place tomorrow
Mariposa County's third annual Career Day will be hosted by New Life Christian Fellowship at 5089 Cole Road on Feb. 5. The fair is for high school students seeking a first job, the unemployed who are looking for work, those who are scouting for a better position and everyone who is curious about the local job market.
Numerous and varied local businesses, major corporations, vocational schools, colleges, and job placement agencies will be on site to provide general industry information, career guidance and to accept applications for positions currently available.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mariposa County High School juniors and seniors will attend workshops and presentations, receive instruction on how to fill out a job application and participate in mock and real job interviews. The general public is invited to meet and network with all presenters and representatives from 2 to 5 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring several copies of their resume and dress for success.
Some of the presenters from last year include Scott's Cleaning Service, Delaware North Corporation, Yosemite Bank, Infant/Child Enrichment Services, Mariposa County Public Works Parks and Recreation and Engineering divisions, Tenaya Lodge, Boyer Temp Services, Drugtech Toxicology Services, National Park Service, Mariposa County Probation, U.S. Marine Corps and Army, McGuffey Plumbing, John C.
