Sierra Artists Gallery hosts miniature show

2010-02-04 / Local News

Sierra Artists' Gallery is launching its annual Miniatures in Mariposa show. The show will run from March 9 to March 21. On March 21, there will be a reception at the gallery from 1 to 3 p.m. The show will change its format this coming year as the gallery lost its valued colleague and miniature show chairman Elizabeth Specht last August.

Specht managed an international show that organizers cannot duplicate this year, but hope to expand next year. This year entries will be hand delivered to the gallery on Highway 140 and Sixth Street in downtown Mariposa. Entry forms may be obtained at the gallery and must be at the gallery by March 5. Image size maximum is 8 by 10 inches.

Entries must be for sale and have hanging wire for display. Entry can also be obtained from the gallery Web site at SierraArtistsGallery. com.

There are new members to the gallery. Kay Price and Jim Monty will show their photographic talents to the community. Also Sharon Bortugno and Carol Lee Rayle have brought their watercolor gifts to augment the gallery's fine art. Helen Willowby Peck designs dichoric glass that is beautifully bold and colorful. She ranges from display platters to lovely jewelry pieces.

For further information call Lorie Setterberg at 742-4614 or Carol Sill 742-4385.
