Oddfellows serve breakfast

2010-02-04 / Local News

Everyone can treat their sweetheart to a hearty breakfast served by the La Grange Odd Fellows of LaFayette Historical Lodge #65. Sunday Feb. 14 is the date of its monthly breakfast at the IOOF Hall, which is on the main street of La Grange. From 7 to 11 a.m. they'll be serving biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes O'Brien, all for $6. Complimentary coffee and orange juice will also be offered with the breakfast.

The Odd Fellows breakfast, a popular local event, is always on the second Sunday. Another La Grange tradition, the Rebekahs' breakfast is the third Sunday, Feb. 21. The menu is a ham and cheese omelette, pancakes, biscuits and gravy with coffee and juice included, all for $6, from 7 to 11 a.m. The ladies of Rebekah Lodge #323 always celebrate Valentine's month with a special Heart Breakfast. In the interest of healthy hearts, proceeds from the breakfast will be shared with the American Heart Association.

The Rebekahs' Favorite Recipes Cookbook is for sale at all the breakfasts for $12 per copy. It's also available at the La Grange Mercantile, across from the IOOF Hall in La Grange, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., phone 853-2027.

The IOOF Hall, the scene of many community events, is on the main street of La Grange, which is Highway 132 just East of the intersection of Highway J-59. For more information on the Rebekahs and Odd Fellows, call Jeannie at 853-2027, Chris at 853-2128 or email: renwah @sonnet.com.
