NMCHC reopens with gala
Each year the museum closes in January to change and freshen its displays. One of the displays that changes annually features a Pioneer founding family.
This year the Haigh family who still have a sizable working ranch just a few miles north of town, are in the limelight. The family has provided the museum with personal photos and fascinating mementos handed down from generation to generation.
Visitors can check out the new displays at the museum’s grand re-opening reception on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Opening originally in 1980 to the public, this year’s reopening is its 30th. A selection of hors d’oeuvres and a variety of local wines will be on hand to sample. Many items will be raffled. Docents will share their in-depth knowledge about the new exhibits.
Tickets for this fund raising event are just $15. Gail Tyler is staffing the museum office during January. She can be contacted at 878.3015, gail@coultervilllemuseum.org .
The History Center Breakfast will take place, rain or shine, on Sunday, Feb.14, as it does on the second Sunday of every month. This year it falls on Valentine’s Day, so ladies will each be presented with a flower to compliment their breakfast. Breakfast includes golden pancakes, eggs, ham or sausage, fruit and beverage. This meal cost for adults is $5, children are $3 and a family of four (two adults, two children) is $15.
