Ebie says its time to move on

Mariposa County Auditor Chris Ebie won't seek re-election to that post in the upcoming June primary.

Ebie told the Gazette on Tuesday morning that "it's just time for me to move on. I have some personal reasons, and I want to do some different things in my life, including spending more time with my 6-year-old son.

This is very sad news for Maripos County. It will be a challenge to find someone as qualified and personable as Chris Ebie. We are losing a true gem.

The county is losing a very hard-working and extremely knowledgable man. The Auditor position requires integrity, honesty and responsibility, all of which Mr. Ebie has in abundance. His will be big shoes to fill.
