Castaldi seeks court's approval for development

Embattled Coyote Springs Ranch owner and District 3 Supervisor candidate Theresa Castaldi has filed a law suit against the County she hopes to work for. The suit, filed Jan. 28 in Mariposa County Superior Court seeks “declaratory relief” and names each of the board members and Planning Director Kris Schenk as defendants, along with the County.

Among other things, the suit says Schenk “was intentionally discriminatory toward Castaldi and her property” and violated her civil rights. It says Schenk has “repeatedly stated” that he would block all attempts at permits unless Castaldi went through an expensive environmental review.

For the complete story on the suit and the County’s reaction to it, see this week’s Mariposa Gazette.

I had the unfortunate luck of

I had the unfortunate luck of buying a parcel from Theresa.....I'm still waiting for her to make good on the representations that she made years ago, I should live so long. Hopefully, the people of Mariposa won't buy her campaign.

The people of this here

The people of this here County know jokes when they hear one, & this is 1 of them! Is there someone down there in District 3 who has better sense than this person. Here's a question: what does the head of agritourism in the state of California have to say about Coyote Springs? The only thing I have to say about it is that, w/ its high debt, the whole "ranch" down there is an embarassment to the County & its people. Either way, come Election Day, NO ONE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTY OF MARIPOSA IS GOING TO VOTE FOR HER.

As I stated earlier Theresa

As I stated earlier Theresa Castaldi is only running to get her agenda (whatever it really is) done. The few people that support her are under the believe that what she gets done will help them. The supporter? of Theresa Castaldi sould look around at the people she took money from and left hurting. Their turn will come. Now Teresa Castaldi is suing the county, What does she think the county sould roll over and give in to her. Maybe she think she can just be appointed supervisor, Because she knows best

I agree that Castaldi's

I agree that Castaldi's actions get more laughable. Why shouldn't any development project of hers have to jump through all of the normal hoops? What she was proposing for Coyote Springs was not agritourism. Agritourism is defined by the state as being income derived from visits/sales for: 1) homestays at a ranch/farm (Limited to no more than 6 guest rooms and 15 guests per night and the homestays must be to a farm "that produces agricultural products as its primary source of income." Also, "The lodging and meals must be incidental to, and not the primary function of, the Agricultural Homestay." As far as I know Coyote Springs has never legally qualified as a farm or ranch per California regulations.); or 2) fruit stands, farmers markets or other means of directly marketing the farm's products. Again, Coyote Springs doesn't qualify. So, clearly, what Castaldi was wanting to develop was a western themed resort. Fine. Great. More power to ya but, then you've got to follow all of the rules that the big boys do. You can't fly in under the radar waving the agritourism banner and then cry "foul" when you're found out! Play by the rules or get out of the game.

Theresa Castaldi is providing

Theresa Castaldi is providing a much needed comedy relief for Mariposians. Keep 'em coming, Theresa! We need the entertainment.

I can't keep a straight face

I can't keep a straight face this is too much. Castaldi cannot seriously think she has a chance at running this county. The sad part is she will cost the county in her attempt to get even.
