An important undertaking

According to an article recently published, the county needs to find a new cemetery because the existing one is almost fully occupied. Obviously, for those who wish to be interred in Mariposa County, this project is an important undertaking.

While I am not yet a resident of Mariposa County, (we’re working to resolve that flaw) it seems to me that finding a site outside of the city limits is the thing to do. The criteria should be a fully usable plot that is easily found from one of the major roads. Hopefully, a local real estate agent would offer to do some digging and help locate a few sites.

Once a site is found, there will be the necessary public hearings, inevitable protests from offended parties, environmental impact reports, planning commission reviews etc. This process could easily take two years so the County should act with all possible haste to avoid a grave situation.
