All roads into Yosemite are closed

Heavy, wet snow is snapping trees

A blanket of wet snow covered most of Mariposa County at upper elevations Friday morning.A blanket of wet snow covered most of Mariposa County at upper elevations Friday morning.According to the National Park Service, all roads into and out of Yosemite National Park are currently closed. The closures are due to downed trees and other weather-related incidents.

The NPS road information line says the closures are temporary. One valley resident said the heavy, wet snow snapped closed to 100 trees, and more continue to go down.

For road updates inside Yosemite, travelers can call 372-0200. For highway information outside the Park boundary, call 1-800-427-ROAD.
