A special education bus had a minor accident on the icy road in Jerseydale just before 8 a.m. The bus slid into an embankment, but no one was injured.

According to MCUSD Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation Bob Morse, there were no chain requirements in the area in which the bus was traveling. The bus driver, however, felt the need to put chains on because of road conditions. When she tried to pull over, the bus slid.

Morse said the driver was keeping her students safe and warm until another bus could reach the area and take them to school.
