Board will get Ferguson Rockslide update

Subject is on Tuesday's agenda
By Jill Ballinger, Gazette Editor

The Mariposa County Board of Supervisors will get an update on the progress to the permanent fix of Highway 140 around the Ferguson Rockslide. On Tuesday, Ross Chittenden, Caltrans District 10 director, will provide the information at the Jan. 19 meeting.

The Ferguson Rockslide occurred in May, 2006, and completely covered Highway 140 in the Merced River Canyon. Since that time, Caltrans has installed temporary bypass bridges to allow traffic to flow through the area.

For the complete story on the update, see the Jan. 21 edition of the Mariposa Gazette.
