Jan. 4: •Gas was stolen at the McSwain toll gate. •There was a false alarm for a structure fire in Bootjack. •A dispute over laundry services was reported at the hospital. •Someone found a horse on Zelma Way.

Jan. 5: •Vandalism and unlawful entry was reported on Mountain Way. •A dog was nipping at people on Princeton Way. •Deputies took at dog bite report on Totokon Road. •There was a skunk issue on Hospital Road.

Jan. 6: •Deputies took a grand theft report on Rastro Way. •A bear was causing a problem on Highway 49 North. •There was a dispute at the Mariposa County Library.

Jan. 7: •A traffic accident was reported on Highway 140 in Midpines. •A suspicious vehicle was on Cedarbrook Road. •Petty theft was reported on Sierra Pines Road. •Longhorn cattle were loose on Bear Valley Road.

Jan. 8: •A bear was under a deck at a home on Highway 49 North. •Raccoons were under a house on Greeley Hill Road. •There was a dispute on Buckeye Road. •A prowler was reported on Tip Top Road.

Jan. 9: •Loose dogs were barking on Chicarra Way. •Someone was skateboarding on Greeley Hill Road. •There was a verbal dispute at the Mariposa SPCA. •Dispatch took a loud music report on Gusano Way. •Someone was using fireworks on Usona Road.

Jan. 10: Seven cows were on Bear Valley Road. •Medications were stolen on Sierra Pines Drive. •Loud, offensive music was reported on Yaqui Gulch Road. •A shoplifter was in custody at Pioneer Market. •Boaters were lost on Lake Don Pedro.

The above listed calls are actual reports to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Dispatch. These are just a sampling of yesterday's calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
