The Mariposa Rotary Club is inviting artists to submit an image that will be used for its posters, postcards and general advertising for the upcoming Art & Wine Festival.

The ability to furnish the art in a digital format for publishing is requested, but not necessary for the contest. The subject matter is not limited, however a relationship to wine, art, the event setting, local scenery, flora, fauna, or the Mariposa community is encouraged.

A committee will make the final selection. The artist selected may display his or her art free of charge at the event, and will be credited in all print materials.

The club also invites local artists to be a part of the festival. This juried fine art event is becoming an way for artists to share their talents and gifts with engaging viewers.

This year there will also be a separate miniature art show in conjunction with the Art & Wine Festival. Artists are asked to donate an original art piece no larger than 10” x 10”.

These works will be on display around the county for four weeks prior to the festival. Viewers are able to participate in this show by purchasing raffle tickets and submitting their tickets to win their selection of their. The drawing will take place at the Art & Wine Festival on May 22, 2010.
