Registration for the Merced College classes held at Mariposa County High School will be on Jan. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Classes were cancelled last year because of budget cuts but are back now. Local registration is at MCHS counseling office or students can register online, or at Merced main campus.

Drama-01 Introduction to Theater (CSU breath area c1/c2)(IGETC area 3B) 3 units: 3 hours lecture. It will be held on Thursdays, from 6:30 to 9:20 p.m. in room 51.

This course is not an acting class, but rather a introduction to the art of theater that delves into the nature of theatrical production, elements of dramatic structure, and the contributions of the playwright, actor, director, designer, technician, and audience--basically an elementary survey of theater from the ancient Greeks to modern times.
