Dec. 28: •Three dogs were loose on Holtzel Road. •A kitten was stuck in an oil drain at Bootjack Tire. •There was a dog fight on Colorado Road. •A dog versus deer incident occurred on Triangle Road. •Someone was illegally bow hunting on Harris Cutoff Road.

Dec. 29: •A bear was on Highway 49 North. •A dog killed two cats on Crystal Aire Drive. •A home on Lehamite Falls was vandalized. •Harassment was reported on Circle Drive. •There was a traffic accident on Circle Drive.

Dec. 30: •There was a structure fire on Highway 140. •Someone was target practicing on Meadow Lane. •Deputies took a harassment report on Leonard Road. •A trespassing incident on Highway 140 ended with an arrest.

Dec. 31: •There was a traffic accident on Highway 49 North. •Grand theft and vandalism were reported in Hunter’s Valley. •There was a possible burglary on Yaqui Gulch Road. •A resident on Indian Peak Road had concerns about a bonfire. •Someone was shooting on Usona Road.

Jan. 1: •Vandalism was reported on Highway 140. •There was a traffic accident on Old Highway. •A burro was injured by dogs on Rainbow View Road. •Shots were heard in the Darrah Road area. •Dispatch took a loud music complaint on Smith Road. •Dirt bike riders were lost in the Jerseydale area.

Jan. 2: •There were three reports of trespassing to play in the snow in Fish Camp. •There was a traffic accident in Greeley Hill. •Shots were fired on Mt. Bullion Cutoff. •Fireworks were reported on Darrah Road. •There was a verbal dispute on Windy Hollow Road.

The above listed calls are actual reports to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Dispatch. These are just a sampling of yesterday's calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
