NANCY KYLE, GENEMARIE MORTIMORE AND CAROLYN SOLOMON (PICTURED LEFT TO RIGHT) WERE HONORED AT THE HOME OF INA LINDERMAN DURING XI PHI UPSILON’S NOVEMBER MEETING. The Exemplar Ritual was held for Nancy Kyle, Genemarie Mortimore and Carolyn Solomon at the home of Ina Linderman during Xi Phi Upsilon’s November meeting. Exemplar is the third degree of Beta Sigma Phi and represents four years of Ritual of Jewels active membership wherein candidates have exemplified those mental and spiritual principles of illumination.

Xi Phi Upsilon is a Mariposa chapter of Beta Sigma Phi with over 200,000 members world-wide. Its motto is life, learning and friendship. For additional information, call 966-8071.

Barbara Parker, chairwoman for the sorority’s 2010 Trivial PurSoup event says preparations are well underway for the 12th annual game day and soup lunch scheduled for Jan. 29, 2010.

As customary, in addition to the homemade soups, lots of prizes will be raffled off during the lunch hour. She urges everyone to mark their calendars for this fund raiser in support of breast cancer research. Parker says everyone is working hard to make this day successful and hopes to exceed the 2009 donation of $1,210.
