Coulterville plans free holiday dinner

Friends and neighbors will join at the free holiday dinner on Saturday, Dec. 19 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. It’s the Coulterville Community Club’s annual Christmas gift to the community and is a cornerstone of Christmas In Coulterville.

Melinda Morey, president and chair of the event is thrilled with the support this year’s dinner has received. “We have had more turkeys and hams contributed than ever before, as well as most of the trimmings and mouth watering desserts, so this dinner is really a community wide event. We also have a long list of volunteers who have stepped forward to help with final preparation, serving and clean-up. SCOPE is providing two volunteers to assist with home deliveries.”

In addition to a 50/50 raffle, a two-day stay on a Lake Don Pedro houseboat will be raffled. Winners of both need not be present when the winning tickets are drawn at the close of the event.

Morey urged anyone who is home-bound and knows of a family or individual who has difficulty getting out of the house and would otherwise be unable to enjoy the day’s festivities to call her at 878- 3957 (cmorey1@sbcglobal.net) or Dale Silverman at 878-3750 (dalemmr @yahoo.com).

Requests for such deliveries should be received by Dec. 17 and generally are restricted to a 10-mile radius of Coulterville, although this can be stretched for special circumstances.
