Friday, Dec. 18

Books Galore! at the Mariposa County Library, sponsored by the Friends of the Library from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Alcoholics Anonymous - noon and 7 p.m. at the fellowship hall at Pioneer Village, Highways 140 and 49 South, 966-3110.

Al-Anon - Lunch bunch meets the first Friday of the month at 12:30 p.m. For information, call Jane at 966-3423.

Bingo - at the American Legion Hall every Friday except the first Friday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. Only $1.50 per card, minimum of three cards. All proceeds go back to the community.

Ecstatic Dance - 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bootjack Stompers Hall. Meditative, freestyle dance therapy for all ages. New music and theme each week. $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. Kids under 12 free.

Grandfamilies Coffee - from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Family Enrichment Center at 4971 Eighth Street. Child care provided with prearrangement. Call 966-2211 for information.

Bingo - at the Fish and Game Hall in Bootjack. Games start at 6:30 p.m. Contact Doris Richards at 966- 2456 for information.

Saturday, Dec. 19 Mariposa Symphony Orchestra - Holiday Concert at Fiester Auditorium, MCHS at 7 p.m. For information or tickets call the Mariposa County Arts Council at 966-3155. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students and are also available at the Visitors Center.

Bootjack Stompers Big Band Dance - at the Stompers Hall at 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear a red dress or tie to celebrate the season.

Spaghetti Dinner - Fund raiser sponsored by the Mariposa County 4-H Council at New Life Christian Fellowship from 5 to 9 p.m. Also entertainment and silent auction. The cost is $15 per person and includes dinner, drink, dessert and entertainment.

Christmas in Coulterville Santa arrives at noon at the firehouse, followed by a free community dinner from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Old Schoolhouse.

Sunday, Dec. 20

Alcoholics Anonymous - 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the fellowship hall at Pioneer Village, Highways 140 and 49 South, 966-3110.

Yosemite Christmas Bird Count Yosemite Area Audubon Society takes part in this international event. Contact Sarah Stock at 379-1435 or sarah_stock@nps.gov for information. A $5 participation fee is required. To arrange carpooling, call 966-2547 or 742-5579. Hot soup and beverages will be provided at the end of the day.

Monday, Dec. 21

Canteen Coffee Time - every Monday at Happy Burger Diner from 6 to 10 a.m. for veterans and their spouses. Free coffee or tea.

Tuesday, Dec. 22

Take Off Pounds Sensibly - Methodist Church Parish Hall on Sixth Street at 9:30 to 11 a.m. For information call 966-6061 or 374- 3280.

Senior Center - Bridge at 9 a.m.

Bootjack Stompers: Square and line dance workshop at Bootjack Stompers Hall. Line dance class with George Morrell begins at 6 p.m. Square dance class for new dancers with Bill Silver from 7 to 8:15 p.m. From 8:15 to 9:30 p.m. is the mainstream and plus workshop with Silver. Al-Anon - Meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m., downstairs at St. Joseph’s Church.

Upper Room Community Women’s Bible Study - meets at the Senior Center in Mariposa. The regular study takes place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Women of all ages are welcome, though no child care is provided.

Alcoholics Anonymous - noon and 5:30 p.m., men’s stag at 7:30 p.m. at the fellowship hall at Pioneer Village, Highways 140 and 49 South, 966-3110. Women’s group at 5:30 p.m.

Awanas - 5:45 to 8 p.m. at Grace Community Church of the Sierra, 3367 Woodland Drive. Family night, dinner at 5:45 p.m. Awanas, youth group, road to recovery and adult Bible study. For information, call Grace Church at 742-6136.

Thursday, Dec. 24

Sewing Class - at the senior center from 9 a.m. to noon. Open to those 18 and older. For information, call 966-2611.

Celebrate Recovery - at New Life Christian Fellowship, 5089 Cole Road in Bootjack. Dinner at 6 p.m., large group at 7 p.m., small groups at 8 p.m. and Solid Rock Cafe coffee and dessert at 9 p.m.
