At around 10:30 a.m., it was snowing heavily in Mariposa. Scanner traffic indicates that Highway 140 has been closed by law enforcement due to snow. A Mariposa County Sheriff's Deputy made the call just a few moments ago.

It appears that only eastbound traffic is restricted at this time. Residents in Cathey's Valley have reported that it is snowing heavily in that area. Mariposa is also getting its share of the white stuff.

The National Weather Service expects the bulk of the precipitation to fall before 4 p.m. today.
