The Mariposa SPCA board directors and staff will host the annual holiday event at the animal shelter/yard sale facility at 5599 Highway 49 North on Dec.19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. As in past years there will be refreshments and in addition, this year a box sale is planned. Boxes of various sizes will be marked from $5 to $40 and shoppers can grab one and fill it to the brim with their choice of items. A large assortment of Christmas decorations will be on sale at bargain prices.

Shelter animals and staff appreciate the generosity of attendees who in the past have brought gifts and many of the following items are needed again this year: laundry detergent, lemon Pinesol, lemon Clorox, Purina dog and cat food, Cheweez dog treats, dog and cat toys and brushes, cat litter (nonclumping), gallon jugs of vinegar, trash bags, yard pooper scoopers, cat and dog brushes, and cash donations are always welcome.
