Friends of Hospice holds ceremony
John C. Fremont Healthcare District’s “Friends of Hospice” will hold its 15th annual Light a Life, Tree of Lights ceremony, on Dec. 16, at 6 p.m., at the Mariposa Senior Center at 5246 Spriggs Lane.
During the holiday season hospices across the United States hold Light a Life ceremonies. It’s a time for the hospice staff to gather to remember and honor the patients that they cared for and for the families and friends to share the memories of their loved ones who have passed.
The ceremony includes music and poetry performances, testimonials provided by community members, hospice volunteers and hospice care providers, reading of the names of loved ones who have departed and the lighting of candles in their memory. After the ceremony refreshments are served.
All are welcome to attend. Anyone who would like to honor a loved one is asked to submit the name of their loved one to Friends of Hospice. A form for this purpose appears in today’s paper. Attendance is not required to have a loved one’s name read at the ceremony.
Mail the completed form to “Friends of Hospice,” P.O. Box 216; Mariposa, CA 95338, by Friday, Dec. 11. For more information call 966- 3800.
