Nov. 9: •A bear was causing concern on Highway 49 North. •Deputies took a dog bite report at John C. Fremont Hospital. •There was a vegetation fire on Hornitos Road. •Someone reported a dogs versus rabbits incident on Hornitos Road.
Nov. 10: •Deputies attempted to serve a warrant at a home on Triangle Road. •Someone found drug paraphernalia on Blade Creek Road. •A complaint about the Coulterville-Greeley Hill School came in from Pine Drive. •There was a domestic dispute on Echo Hill Road.
Nov. 11: •A door was slightly open on 10th Street. •A traffic accident was reported on Mariposa Street. •A loud music complaint came in from Ponderosa Way. •There was an unknown type of disturbance on St. Andrew’s Road.
Nov. 12: •There was a sick opposum at Mariposa Middle School. •Deputies responded to a child abuse report on Silver Bar Road. •Dogs were at large on Boyer Road.
Nov. 13: •Houseboats on Lake McClure were burglarized. •A man was stuck in a tree on Sullivan Road. •A storage unit on Falcon Lane was burglarized. •There was a pedestrian on Highway 140.
Nov. 14: •Someone on Jeannine Lane wanted advice. •Illegal mining was reported on Ben Hur Road. •Trespassing was reported on Mary Harrison Mine Road. •There was a smell of gas inside a home on Pine Street.
Nov. 15: •An aggressive dog was loose on Country Court. •Someone was shooting in the French Camp Road area. •There was a bat in a garage on Clouds Rest Road. •Neighbors were having a dispute on Crown Lead Road.
The above listed calls are actual reports to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Dispatch. These are just a sampling of each day's calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
