Thank you

Raymond has its own “railroad” once again, thanks in large part to the huge showing of volunteers who helped build it. Thank you to the “I’ve been working on the Raymond railroad” gang. Members include the Mariposa County Contractors’ Association, Alan Dayhoff, Burt Murdock, Andy Verdugo, John Zurilgen, Mark Ledgewood, Paul Peterson and his backhoe, Judy and Sam Leonard, Jim and Nedra Craig, Kim, Shelby, Samantha, Sarah and Emmet Preston, Bill Wilson, Esther Moore, Bruce and Candy Ilves, Richard Brechbuel and his equipment, John Spillane and his son Cody, Mike Smith, Moe Rush, Dean Cram and his tractor, Bob Deisher and the forklift, Avilio Rodriguez, Max Stauffer and the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad, David Lynn at Harmer Steel, Rita Gaskin Noble Deisher of the Noble Deisher Memorial Fund, Mr. Johnson and the Raymond- Knowles Elementary School students, Bud Richards for his moral support, Tim, Jeff and his family and Wesley for keeping an eye on the place; and my husband, Wayne Northrop, for putting up with me.

The group laid the track in five hours with no injuries except some sore muscles the next day.
