Nov. 2: •There was a break-in on Seventh Street. •Threats were investigated on Old Highway. •Multiple shots were fired in Ponderosa Basin. •There was a fire in a tree on Silver Bar Road.

Nov. 3: •A person missing from Mariposa was located in San Luis Obispo. •A mailbox was vandalized on Ben Hur Road. •Someone called trying to reach the emergency room. •There was an unwanted salesman at Idlewheels. •A structure fire call came in from Bull Pine Lane.

Nov. 4: •There was a suspicious person at behavioral health. •A possible scam was reported on Stockton Creek Road. •There was a bear on Mt. Ophir Road. •Someone was shooting near Highway 49 South. •Deputies took a bite report at the John C. Fremont Hospital emergency room.

Nov. 5: •Someone was shooting in the Mormon Bar area. •A horse was loose on Merced Falls Road. •Child abuse was reported on French Camp Road. •A mountain lion was seen on Ben Hur Road. •There was a smelly burn pile on Yaqui Gulch Road.

Nov. 6: •There was a vicious dog attack on Buckingham Mountain Road. •Flames could be seen on Oak Road. •Hikers were lost on the Vernal Falls trail. •Falling rocks were blocking Highway 140. •There were verbal disputes on Highway 140 and Bullion Street.

Nov. 7: •A cat was stuck in a tree on Azucena Court. •Bird feeders were stolen on Forest Drive. •Smoke was reported on Royal Arches Road. •Possible poaching was reported on Sebastopol Road. •There was some malicious mischief on Highway 140.

Nov. 8: •Dispatch took a noise complaint from the Best Western. •A vehicle was stolen on Whitmore Drive. •Unsafe shooting was reported on Ponderosa Way. •There was a dispute on Adelfa Street.

The above listed calls are actual reports to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Dispatch. These are just a sampling of each day's calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
