Ann Kludt
Ann Rue Hess Kludt died at her home in Coarsegold on Oct. 26. She was 84-years-old and had been battling illness for several years.
Ann was born in Fresno where she lived for 59 years before moving to Coarsegold to live in the log cabin she built, aided by her family. She attended Fresno High School and earned her bachelor of science degree at Fresno State. She worked for over 25 years as a medical laboratory technologist at St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno, where she touched many lives.
In her younger years Ann enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, and knitting, and she was a great cook, too. She was a thoughtful and generous person who gave unconditional love to her family and friends. She loved animals and adored the many pets she had throughout the years.
Ann is survived by her husband, Scotty, and her large, blended family including her daughter, Cher Tompkins and her husband Flint of Coarsegold; and two stepdaughters, Krissy Sayre and husband Billy; and Becky Shurley, all of Fresno. She is survived by grandsons, Jeremiah and Garrett Tompkins of Coarsegold-Oakhurst area; Danny and Matt Hess of Northern California; Jake and Tanner Hess of Prather; Anthony and Brandon Sayre of Fresno; and granddaughter, Jasmine Bertone of Fresno. Ann is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law Jean Hess of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her son Chuck Hess of Prather and her brother Larry Rue of Sacramento. She has enriched many lives and left many cherished memories.
A memorial service for Ann will be held at Mariposa Lutheran Church on Friday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name may be made to Mariposa Lutheran Church, 4469 Highway 49 South, Mariposa, CA 95338.
