Oct. 27: •A vegetation fire was reported on Highway 132. •Someone violated a court order on Tenth Street. •Poaching was reported on Morningstar Lane. •Deputies took an assault report at Mariposa Middle School.
Oct. 28: •An assault occurred on a bus in Mariposa. •Officials at John C. Fremont Hospital reported a dog bite. •Mailboxes were vandalized on Ben Hur Road. •Dispatch took a missing person report.
Oct. 29: •There was smoke in a residence on Whiterock Road. •A vehicle was abandoned on Bullion Street. •A possible pipe bomb was located on Highway 140. •A dog was howling on Wildwood Drive. •There was a dog issue at BJ Ranch.
Oct. 30: •Mailboxes were vandalized on Triangle Road. •Three dogs were missing on Blue Oak Ridge Road. •A burn pile reportedly got out of control on Tip Top Road. •Someone was shooting in the Burney Drive area.
Oct. 31: •There was a garage fire on Boat Club Drive. •Possible drunk drivers were reported on Highway 49 South and in the town area. •There was a disturbance at the Super 8 Motel. •Poaching was reported on Yaqui Gulch Road.
Nov. 1: •Someone was trespassing on McMahon Road. •Poaching was again reported on Yaqui Gulch Road. •A single shot was heard on Bullion Street Extension. •There was loud music playing on Eighth Street near Highway 140.
The above listed calls are actual reports to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Dispatch. These are just a sampling of each day's calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
