Gallery lists winners

Sierra Artists' Gallery has announced the winners of its recent Gold Rush Art Show. The show had 94 entries and two entrants who had never entered previously gained awards.

Ken Mari, Carol O'Leary Harner, and Earl and Eileen Rogers helped to promote the Gold Rush Art Show with their donations. Grace Note Chimes, Sierra Telephone, Foster's True Value, Mariposa Arts Council, Savoury's Restauant, Happy Burger, and Yosemite Bank promoted the arts in the community with their donations.

The Gold Rush Art Show had six categories. Winners in the three dimensional category were: first, Brad Stark; second, Dorothy Peterson; third, Brad Stark; and honorable mention went to Chuck Oliver.

Photography winners were: first, Bob Chapanot; second, Charlie Phillips; third, Kristal Leonard; and honorable mention, Sally Skogen.

Two winners the the black and white category were: first, Sue Rudd and second, Carol Sill. Winners in mixed media were: first, Chuck Oliver; second, Sue Rudd; third and honorable mention went to Terry Godinez.

Watercolor category winners were: first, Carol Lee Rayle; second, Sharon Shurman; third and honorable mention was Maude Greenwood. Lastly, oil and acrylic winners were: first, Larry Potter; second, Diane Hunter- Zehrung; third, Larry Potter; honorable mention, Teresa Bettridge.

Best of Show ribbon and prize went to Cathy Fleming. People's choice award went to Kristal Leonard with her photograph of Stoneman Bridge in Yosemite.
