Coulterville plans for holiday dinner
The Coulterville Community Club’s free holiday dinner, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 19 is shaping up to be bigger and better.
This year, thanks to Gail Tyler and Barbara Lyman, who have volunteered to wash them, dinner will be served on the history center’s plates rather than paper plates.
Melynda Morey, club president, is excited about the response she has gotten in terms of donated items and services. She asks that anyone who would like to donate or volunteer, by either baking (supplies will be provided), serving or cleaning up, to contact her at 878-3957 or email her at cmorey1@sbcglobal.com.
The Christmas dinner is just one of the events that takes place during the Dec. 19 “Christmas in Coulterville,” a day long series of events, including a visit from Santa at noon at the fire house.
The dinner, scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Coulterville old schoolhouse, is open to the entire community and visitors. Volunteers will be available to deliver to home bound individuals unable to join in the festivities.
